Terms of Service

These terms apply to purchases and bespoke commissions made on the Da Things Jewellery website (the "Site"). By placing an order you agree to these terms.

1. About us

Brand: Da Things Jewellery — a Hong Kong bespoke jewellery studio led by a GIA-certified diamond grader

2. When an order is formed

All prices are in Hong Kong dollars (HK$).
An order is formed when payment is completed; we confirm by email or WhatsApp.
If an item has sold out, was mispriced, or we cannot fulfil the order, we will tell you promptly and refund in full.

3. Payment

Credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay and WeChat Pay (via Stripe); or FPS / PayMe (manually confirmed).

FPS / PayMe orders: please send proof of transfer within 24 hours of ordering. Orders without proof are cancelled automatically and the item is relisted.

4. Ready-to-wear pieces

Dispatched within 1–2 business days after payment (Hong Kong).
Shipping: SF Express, freight collect (you pay SF on delivery). We do not add shipping charges on the Site.
Overseas delivery: please WhatsApp us first; shipping is at your cost.

5. Bespoke commissions

5.1 Design fee — HK$1,680

Paid online. Covers a 1–1.5 hour meeting or video consultation and 2–3 design directions.
After payment we will contact you to arrange a time.
If, after assessment, we cannot take on your commission, the design fee is refunded in full.
If you decide not to proceed after the consultation, the design fee is non-refundable (the consultation and design work have already been carried out).
When you proceed, the full design fee is deducted from your deposit.

5.2 Deposit — 75%

Payable once the design is confirmed. It covers materials and reserved production time.
The deposit is non-refundable once paid (materials are ordered and production time is reserved).
Prototyping usually takes 2–3 weeks; the quotation governs.

5.3 Balance

Payable before collection. Once received we arrange collection or SF Express delivery.

5.4 Rescheduling a consultation

Every slot is reserved and prepared specifically for you, so please attend as agreed.
To reschedule, notify us at least 24 hours in advance; the first reschedule is free.
Each subsequent reschedule incurs a HK$880 administration fee, to cover the reserved slot and preparation work.
Failure to attend without prior notice counts as a reschedule.

6. Inherent variation in bespoke work

Natural gemstones, diamonds and pearls vary in colour, inclusions and texture. This is not a defect.
Handmade pieces may vary slightly in dimension, weight and finish (generally within ±5%); this is normal craftsmanship.
Gemmological certificates (e.g. GIA) are issued by third parties; their grading is as stated on the certificate.

7. Reusing your own gold

We accept 14K or higher gold / karat gold only.
Weight and purity may be lost during melting; the usable weight is confirmed by our workshop.
You confirm that the gold is lawfully yours.

8. Care and after-sales

Lifetime complimentary basic care (cleaning, stone-tightness check, light polishing).
Excludes: accidental damage, impact deformation, unauthorised alterations, third-party repairs, loss.
Repair of accidental damage is quoted case by case.
If care requires shipping, return shipping is at your cost; in-person handover is free.

Ring resizing

Within 14 days of purchase you may have the ring resized once, free of charge.
Free resizing covers an adjustment of less than two Hong Kong ring sizes.
Some styles cannot be resized due to their construction (e.g. full-eternity set bands, pierced or openwork designs, unusual structures). We will tell you before you buy.
Adjustments beyond the above are quoted according to the work involved.

9. Returns and exchanges

Ready-to-wear: within 7 days of receipt, unworn and not damaged, you may request an exchange or refund (engraved or already-resized pieces excluded).
Bespoke pieces: personalised, therefore no returns or exchanges (except for quality issues).
Refunds are returned to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days.

10. Intellectual property

Design drawings, sketches, photographs and copy we provide remain our copyright.
They may not be copied, resold or used commercially without our consent.
If you supply reference images, you confirm you have the right to use them.

11. Limitation of liability

Our liability in respect of a piece is limited to its purchase price.
We are not liable for damage caused by improper wear, contact with chemicals, or impact during sport.
Risk during SF Express delivery is governed by SF's terms; we will help you follow up any claim.

12. Force majeure

If events beyond our reasonable control (natural disaster, epidemic, logistics disruption, supplier delay) cause delay, we will notify you promptly and agree a new timeline. This is not a breach of these terms.

13. Personal data

How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Hong Kong courts have exclusive jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is published on this page. A completed order is governed by the terms in force on the date of the order.
